[album of the month 2012.02] From the Mouth of the Sun 『Woven Tide』
2月の [album of the month] は文句なしにJasper TXとAaron MartinによるFrom the Mouth of the Sunのデビュー作。まだ先は長いですが、むしろことしを代表する1枚になるだろうと確信しています。
メロディーを奏でるむせび泣くようなチェロの嗚咽と、慎ましやかなピアノのすすり泣きが漆黒のノイズ・ドローンとともにアルバム・タイトルのように織物をつむいでいく一大サウンドスケープ。胸騒ぎが収まらない、「Like Shadows In An Empty Cathedral」と「A Season In Waters」の圧倒的な緊張感の果てに訪れる「Snow Burial (While Blue Skies Gather)」の嘘のような安息。すべての美しい音楽はレクイエム。
